The former Southampton defender brings years of managerial experience to Westleigh Park, having had two stints as boss at Southern League Bashley, followed by a five-year run from 2004 to 2009 as assistant-manager at Salisbury City.
He has also been in the hot-seat at AFC Totton and coached at Weymouth.

New has now left the Hawks.
Meanwhile, Woking goalkeeper Matt Pegler is the latest player to join Ritchie’s new-look Hawks side.
After putting pen-to-paper on a contact, Pegler expressed his excitement at the prospect of the coming season and had favourable first impressions of Westleigh Park.
“The confidence and positivity coming from all the people I’ve spoken to here is great,” he said.
“I know some of the players and the message is definitely that things are moving in the right direction. I’ve gained plenty of experience at Woking, and I’m looking forward to getting going here.”
Pegler left Woking in February this year having spent three seasons with the Cards.
He originally started as a school boy with Fulham’s under-10 squad and stayed with the side until moving to Queens Park Rangers at the age of 15.
From there he gained a scholarship at Aldershot before signing for Woking in August 2009.
