New Signing Helps Cray Go Second

Cray Wanderers moved into second place in the Bostik League South table on Wednesday night following a 4-2 win against VCD Athletic at Hayes Lane.

And it marked a great night for the Wands` newest recruit, the experienced former Charlton and Barnet striker Charlie Macdonald.

It was goalless at the break in the mist, but only 3 minutes into the second half, Karl Dent broke the deadlock to give the hosts the lead.

That lasted barley 5 minutes though as Siao Blackwood pulled the Vickers back on level terms and then 8 minutes later, their recent recruit, Warren Mfula, put them in front from the penalty spot.

But in the 79th minute, Macdonald grabbed his first to pull Cray level and, after defender Ben Mudele had put the them 3-2 up on 81 minutes, bagged his second and Cray`s third 7 minutes later to put the game beyond VCD.
