.....FC United of Manchester when the new season starts.
FC United manager Karl Marginson said: "Roy Soule has been a tremendous help to me over the years, both in his recent role as my assistant and previously when he was based in America and used to help me out on his visits home. However, I’ve got fresh plans to take the squad forward, so I’ve made the tough decision to let Roy go.
"Souley has been a firm favourite with the fans, so I know many people around the club will be sad to see him leave, but I suppose the simplest explanation is the old phrase `footballing differences’ and I have decided that it is the right time to let Souley move on.
“For now, I’m planning not to have an assistant next season, because we’ve got enough cover with the rest of the coaching team."
Meanwhile, the latest player to sign up for the 2012/13 campaign is Dean Stott, who joins a list of players who signed up for next year in April.
They are as follows:- James Spencer, Kyle Jacobs, Adam Jones, Lee Neville, Nicky Platt, Carlos Roca, Astley Mulholland and Michael Norton.
Marginson added: "I’m really pleased that Dean has signed on for another year. Like others who have committed their future to FC, he is a key player for us and really gets what the club is about."
Leaving the club are Greg Stones and Richard Battersby. Stones is moving to Welsh Premier side Prestatyn, while Battersby will play next season at Radcliffe Borough.
Stones’ move to a club nearer to where he lives is not totally unexpected and Battersby should get more first-team football at Radcliffe.
Commenting on the moves, Marginson said: "I’d like to thank both Richard and Greg for all they’ve done for FC and wish them the very best of luck for the future. Both have done well for the club and made a lot of friends both on and off the pitch."
