Taylor has a wealth of experience in football having played at Aston Villa winning the FA Youth Cup in 1979/80.
He then enjoyed five years at the club, winning the Central reserve division and the first-team winning the league and European Cup.
He then went onto Northampton Town where he played eighty-two first team games before going onto the non-League circuit, playing for Alvechurch, Leamington, Redditch United and Sutton Coldfield Town before a serious knee injury forced him to stop playing.
Nolan said: "To be able to bring in someone with such vast experience is a major plus for me and the club.
“I am hoping that his knowledge and passion for the game will rub off on all players from the club."
Nolan himself has enjoyed playing at a good level of football, having started his career at Coventry City and going on to have spells at Hinkley United, Shepshed Dynamo, Rugby United, Stratford Town, Coventry Copsewood and Australian outfit Stanmore Hawks (Australia) before starting his managerial career at Coventry Copsewood.
