Mark Smitheringale has joined Garforth Town as assistant manager meaning he will work with Rob Hunter once again writes Tom Feaheny.
Smitheringale recently left his position where he worked with Paul Stansfield at Knaresborough Town, so he could take up the role.
The duo previously were in employment together at both Tadcaster Albion and Glasshoughton Welfare.
Last season Garforth finished 15th in the NCEL Premier, with the side ending the campaign on a seven game winless run.
Town were on the look out for a new assistant after Andy Sunley left the club due to moving to America
Smitheringale has previously worked for the likes of Harrogate Railway and Clitheroe.
Knaresborough boss Stansfield was full of praise for Smitheringale after he vacated his previous role.
“Since taking the job as first-team manager, Mark has been amazing to work with.
“He was the first and best phone call that I made when attempting to assemble a backroom team.
“He has worked very hard on behalf of the club and has helped the lads tremendously. His attention to detail is on another level.”
