Durham City have announced that they have formally agreed a one-year groundsharing agreement with Willington AFC to use Hall Lane Stadium for all of the Ebac Northern League club`s first-team home games for the 2017/18 season.

Durham will continue to play midweek home games on Tuesday evenings and Willington AFC will play their midweek home games on Wednesday evenings.

Both clubs will play at Hall Lane on alternate Saturdays as fixed by the Northern League, who have ratified the agreement in principle. There is also an option to extend the agreement beyond one season.

The club have thanked everybody at Consett Football Club for welcoming them during the past eighteen months.

While Durham are working hard behind the scenes to secure a new stadium for the club within the vicinity of the City, it is believed the move to Willington will be welcomed by our supporters who have had to travel much further recently in support of their team.
