Goole manager Karl Rose believes his side are moving in the right direction ahead of the start of the season in the Evo-Stik League North writes Tom Feaheny.

They defeated Barton Town in their latest pre-season game beating them 3-0 thanks to goals from Dan Barrett, Sam Colbear and Jack Smith.

Speaking to the club’s website, Rose spoke about why this result was another bonus as they prepare for the campaign.

“I’m delighted with the workout and a clean sheet is always welcome at any stage of the season. We created lots of chances and that was pleasing. Overall it’s another step as we head towards August 12th when the season begins.”

Goole’s next game will see them face another NCEL side this time Division One team Rossington Main. Rose is pleased with the team that he has been able to put together.

“The squad is shaping up nicely and we’ll have a look at another couple of player this week. Hopefully we can get another couple of signings across the line but I don’t think we are that far off in that respect. We’re always looking to improve but overall for this stage of pre season I’m happy.”
