Tommy Lawson paid credit to his Marine side after their win over Stalybridge Celtic writes Tom Feaheny.

The win saw his side go above Celtic on goal difference to 19th place in the Evo-Stik Premier.

“I’m delighted we got what we deserved, that hasn’t happened sometimes, we worked really hard and it is good to be pleasing these supporters, that is why we play this game to have that feel good factor,” said Lawson.

“It was a case there were so many good performances from the lads, they are stood out for me against a good side, this is a fine result.”

One of the goals saw Danny Mitchley hit a fine strike, that helped set the side on their way to the three points, something that didn’t shock Lawson.

“Listen Danny is a bit special, we expect moments of magic like that from him, we know he is capable of the wonder goals he can score.”

Lawson finally paid credit to his whole squad, with some players out with injury.

“We’ve got lads who have missed the game due to injury. It has stretched the squad a bit but that is why it is so important we have depth.”
