Davis, who has now played eighty-seven games for the Iron, has also caught the eye of England 'C' manager Paul Fairclough and impressed in his international debut season.

Braintree manager Alan Devonshire was delighted: "Kenny's had a great season for us and I'm really pleased he's agreed to sign up for another year.

“He's led the side with a calm professionalism and that has been acknowledged with his England call up. With the players already here, together with one or two additions, I'm already looking forward to next season."
