...were beaten 2-0 at Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Staveley Miners Welfare in the Fifth Round of the FA Vase.
But the Poachers have no time in which to lick their wounds.
Today they face another huge game, this time with their attention firmly back on the league.
Oadby travel to leaders Heanor Town knowing that they need a win to close the gap on the front-runners – but also to keep pace with second-placed Borrowash Victoria, who visit struggling Gedling Miners Welfare.
Oadby go into the game nine points behind Heanor, but their extended Vase run has left them with five games in hand, which could prove crucial on the run in. Despite their defeat to the NCEL title-contenders on Wednesday, Town go into the key clash in good form in the league.
Lee Harriman's side are unbeaten in their last eight EMCL games, which has produced a healthy tally of twenty-two points to keep them firmly in the title and promotion race.
In contrast, Heanor have lost their last two matches – at the hands Barrow Town and Thurnby Nirvana.
