Northwich Victoria have confirmed the club has raised the £5000 it required writes Tom Feaheny.

The club revealed they had just 48 hours to raise the required sum and had a deadline on Wednesday afternoon.

This was down to owing money to creditors. A meeting on Monday confirmed they were able to raise £10,000 themselves but were still short.

If the money had not been raised then the club would have suffered a double relegation to the second tier of the North West Counties League and could have been refused membership.

A small group of fans have been running the club and estimate they have so far spent over £50,000 in running the club since the start of last season.

Victoria will also receive the sell-on percentage from Jordan Williams move from Barrow to Rochdale, which is another boost for the club.

The club will now be provisionally placed in the North West Counties Premier, with the AGM taking place this weekend.

After confirming the news, the clubs official Twitter account had these messages
