On the signing, Gardner said: “Shane is a player I am very excited to have brought to the club. “He is a goalscorer I have been chasing since the end of last season. I firmly believe he will be up amongst the top scorers this season. “I would like to welcome Shane to the club and hopefully it will be a successful spell.” Meanwhile, new man Oakley said: “I can’t wait to get started and although there were a few offers on the table, I shared the same view as the gaffer. “I liked what he had to say and hopefully I can repay his faith in me with scoring the goals that will make for an exciting season at Aveley.”
