....table with a 4-2 home win over Newquay in one of just two top flight games to survive the wet festive period.

Adam Carter bagged a hat-trick for the Priory Park hosts who moved four points clear at the top.

In the other Premier game played Liverton United thrashed neighbours Bovey Tracey 6-0 to collect maximum points which although giving them local bragging rights, were not enough to see them rise from thirteenth in the table.

Just two Division One East games were played, both in South Devon and both seeing away sides claim victory.

Newton Abbot Spurs came from behind to win 3-1 at Teignmouth. The three points added to other sides inactivity meaning that Spurs climb four places and now top the East table.

Stoke Gabriel, who could have gone top, were humbled as they went down to a 1-5 home defeat to near-neighbours Galmpton United at Broadley Lane.

Alex Bayliss hit four of Galmpton`s goals which help lift them two places in the table to seventh.

Only one game in the West section survived the wet weather with Godolphin Atlantic doing well to get on their home game with Wadebridge Town in a top of the table clash.

There reward being a 5-3 victory over one of their nearest rivals and a seven-point cushion at the top of the table.
