.....of Sutton United captain Sam Page.
The highly-rated central defender was set to stay with the successful Surrey club next year after making his 100th appearance for the U`s during the second leg of their play-off semi-final against Welling United. However, a revised training schedule at Gander Green Lane for the coming season meant Page was forced to leave due to work commitments elsewhere.
Page made thirty-three league starts for Sutton last season, and in a two-year spell with the side played 101 games in all, scoring nine goals.
He moved to Sutton in June 2010 from Horsham, and before that started his career with three seasons at MK Dons, where he scored on his only senior team appearance. He has also spent time on loan at Cambridge United and Hendon.
The signing is seen as something of a coup for the Hawks, being the first of the new era under the recently-installed managerial partnership of Stuart Ritchie and Sean New.
