.....experienced Matty Parry is a blow - but hopes the club's new arrivals can fill the void.
The Greens will start life after relegation by hosting Goole AFC on Saturday, August 18th and Goulding is working hard at re-shaping his side for the new campaign.
Although relegated from the Premier Division last season, Burscough rallied in the final few weeks to give supporters hope of an immediate return to the level.
However, part of last year's squad has been broken up with Karl Gornell, Phil Clarke and Phil Jones joining Parry in leaving the Linnets. But Goulding has managed to bring in a clutch of fresh faces with Lee Baker, Liam Caddick and Nick Walker amongst the new signings.
Burscough fans got to see the new players in action last weekend in the 1-1 draw with an Everton XI at Victoria Park and last night's game with Accrington Stanley, provided them with a second chance to run the rule over the refreshed squad.
Goulding was pleased with the display against the Blues and hopes they can continue in that vein for the start of the league season kicks-off in just under a month.
"Matty Parry is taking a break from football and will not really be playing for anyone," said Goulding.
"Travelling from his home near Buxton was becoming a factor.
"It is unfortunate because he has been a great servant to this club. I brought the lad to the club myself and he has had a great time with Burscough, but travelling was becoming a bit of a factor.
"We have also lost Karl Gornell due to work commitments; Phil Clarke has gone to Hednesford Town and Phil Jones has gone on trial at Morecambe, although I believe Nantwich Town have been in contact."
On the Everton game, he said: "I was pleased with the lads, it was decent and we sort of picked up where we left off last season. It was a good workout and a good game of football.
"I am just looking to get the new team shape and ideas and be taken on board by the lads.
"We started to put some positive results together towards the end of last season."
