Carlsberg South West Peninsula League

....climb the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Division One East table – starting at home to Okehampton Argyle on Boxing Day.
Kirton, whose fixture with Totnes & Dartington last Saturday was postponed due to heavy rain, were on a six-match unbeaten run before losing their last game 4-1 at Exmouth Town in the Devon Premier Cup nearly three weeks ago.
The Lord’s Meadow side have fallen behind in their schedule due to several postponements, with Monday’s visitors having played a remarkable eight league games more than their hosts.
And former Yeovil and England semi-professional international Patmore wants his side to bounce back and make their games in hand count.
“We have Okehampton next and they are not a bad team at all,” said Patmore, who expects captain Richard Groom to feature after seven weeks out with a knee injury.
“They have come into the division and picked up a good number of points.
“We had been on a good run until the Exmouth game – hopefully we can get back to that form now and get a win over Okehampton.
“It will be a tough game, provided the weather is okay and we do get to play it.
“I do always look at the positives though. The postponements have given extra time for Richard Groom to see a specialist about his injury.
“He is now in the frame for getting some minutes against Okehampton, which would be great for both him and the club.”
