....rejoined Ryman League Premier Division rivals East Thurrock United as a player.
Keith had shown a desire to become the new boss after Lee Hodges quit last week, but the club were unable to guarantee he would be given the role on a full-time basis.
That led to Keith moving back to Ryman Premier rivals East Thurrock in a playing capacity and while Aveley look for a permanent appointment, Patterson will once again fill the breach - a role he performed after Carl Griffiths left Aveley earlier in the season.
“Lee Patterson will be in the same capacity as he was when Carl Griffiths left the club earlier in the season,” said Johnson. “He’ll assume the role of caretaker while we continue to look to fill the permanent position of first-team manager.”
