....2012/13 Blue Square Bet Premier campaign which starts on Saturday.

Boro boss Kevin Wilkin swooped to agree a deal with Tamworth for the highly-rated forward, who joined them in the summer of 2011.

Patterson, 26, started his career with West Bromwich Albion, where he scored fifty goals in five years with the youth academy, before a stint at Finnish club TK-47.

His US experience began in the team at St Louis University, through which he earned a place in the USL Premier Development League side, St Louis Lions.

From there, Patterson was drafted by LA Galaxy, joining players such as David Beckham and Landon Donovan. He made three first-team appearances for the LA club and spent a spell on loan with Hollywood United Hitmen before his release.

The next stop for the 5`9” Birmingham-born player was Sweden, where he played ten times for GAIS before returning to England and being snapped up by Hednesford Town.

After scoring fourteen times in twenty-two games for the Pitmen, he made the move to Conference Premier Tamworth, where he found the net five times last season in forty-one appearances last season.
