....Town, has revealed that he has offered Richard Pell the chance to come to pre-season training in order to try and prove that he has got over a hamstring problem that has dogged him since December.
Pell joined the club in June 2010 has quickly established himself as a fans` favourite with his no-nonsense defensive displays. He has also popped up with some important goals, including the brace that helped seal Town’s safety on the final day of last season.
Weaver said: “Richard has been a fantastic player for us, he had a great season last time around and those two goals against Corby Town epitomised what type of player he is. However, he has really struggled with his hamstring since Christmas and it is that type of injury that can take a long time to shake off.
“I have invited him back for pre-season training to see how he has progressed following the summer break, I know Richard looks after himself and I am hoping that he has overcome any problems.
“I also want to have a look at Danny Stimpson, who suffered a nasty injury in pre-season last time around and I think that it is only fair that I give both players a chance to prove what they can do.
“Hopefully, both of them will give me a right selection headache!”
