Manager Shaun Hollinshead has started to reshape his squad for the new season after replacing Peter Ward, who has been followed to neighbours and league rivals Leek Town by four of his old team.

Defender Donnelly and striker Nagington join after being released by Stafford Rangers, while midfielder Ash Hill, forward Shane Reaney, keeper Dave Dyson and left-back Matt Lowndes join from Hollinshead's old club, North West Counties Leaguers Stone Dominoes.

Frontman Andy Kinsey, midfielders Craig Dove and Aiden Matranga, defender Paul Taylor and striker Dave Shaw have all agreed to stay at the Seddon Stadium next season.

Hollinshead said: "I don't want to speak too much about money, but people are aware we have a reduced budget.

"We've made quite attractive offers for players to come here and it is a testament to them that it's not been about cash, they want to play for Kidsgrove.

"We have brought in the experience of players like Paul and Alan who have been at this level and done very well before, then got some younger lads who are hungry to prove they can do it at this standard.

"Shane was a very good player for me at Stone and he's one of those after a chance at a higher level. He is very quick and that is always a bonus."

Striker James Curley is another expected to swap Dominoes for `Grove this week.

And keeper Steve Hodgson and defender Andy Taylor should pledge their futures to the club as well.

Hollinshead said: "We will have some good characters in this squad. James was captain for me at Stone, Paul has been a leader for Greg Clowes at Newcastle and Stafford and Craig has been skipper at Kidsgrove. They will lead by example.

"I'm really enjoying the challenge of putting together a squad and I'm talking to one or two more to bring in."
