Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club Kettering Town have confirmed the signing of central defender Ed Palmer on a one-year deal.

The defender joins from npower League Two side Torquay United, and becomes John Beck first summer signing since taking over the Poppies helm.

Palmer, 20, graduated from the Plainmoor youth system after impressing with his performances at the back.

The powerful defender enjoyed loan spells with Tiverton Town and Weymouth in 2011/12 and had a six-month loan spell with Blue Square Bet South side Truro City at the start of the last campaign.
