Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club Frome Town have announced the signing of striker Lewis Powell.

Powell started his career with Bristol Rovers and completed a loan spell with Mangotsfield United while a professional with Rovers before brief spells with Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon Town after his release.

He then moved onto Tiverton Town but was soon snapped up by Chippenham Town where he had a successful three seasons, netting fifty goals, but injuries had blighted last season where he missed most of the campaign with a broken leg.

He looked set to join fellow Southern Premier Division side Leamington but having never completed the paperwork has opted for a move to the AlderSmith Stadium instead.

Meanwhile, Frome have released summer signing Carl Foster by mutual consent.

The former Bashley striker played a handful of games for the Robins but after talks with Darren Perrin it was considered in the best interests of both parties for Carl to move on so he can play regularly.
