“I have spoken with David and he has decided he will be leaving the club, said Bristow. “We have had several discussions and David is gutted and sad to be leaving but feels that he needs to move on in order to get more games.
“David has expressed his appreciation to the club and the fans and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone. He has had a great time at the club but with chances possibly limited needs to let his head rule and not his heart and seek first-team football elsewhere.
“I would like to say it has been very difficult to let David go, he has scored some excellent and important goals for the club, he has never given anything less than 100%, but the excellent form of Delano Sam-Yorke and sills towards the end of the season meant opportunities were limited.
“David is a player that deserves to be in a starting XI every week and I wish him nothing but success next season and beyond. He has not only been a colleague over the last few years but a real friend and that will continue.”
