Promotion Good for Island Economy

....Counties League club Guernsey FC has said.

But after the club clinched the Division One title on Saturday, Mark Le Tissier warned that the higher the team went, the bigger the challenges it would face and the more support it would need.

The players’ 7-1 demolition of title rivals Bedfont Sports was watched by a packed and lively Footes Lane as official figures showed that an amazing 2,143 supporters had turned out - a club record.

Le Tissier said gaining promotion in its first season was a fantastic achievement for the club.
