....Burnham Ramblers , according to manager Keith Wilson.

The Leslie Field outfit travel to play Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Walsham-le-Willows on Saturday, knowing the winners of the Extra Preliminary Round tie will pocket £1,000 in prize money.

Burnham will book a visit to play Ryman League Division One North side Soham Town Rangers in the Preliminary Round on August 25th, should they win.

Wilson said: “There’s the extra incentive of a pot of cash up for grabs for the winner. “The winning club gets a huge windfall out of it and that cash would be a huge bonus for us.

“It’s a bit of a long trip and a new ground for us and I hope that it’ll be a good day.

“We don’t know too much about them but I’m pretty sure they don’t know too much about us, either.”

Burnham began the new Essex Senior League season with a 3-2 defeat last weekend.

But they were only denied a well-deserved point by a late, late goal at Enfield 1893.

“We deserved a point from the game and it was so disappointing to concede a goal so late on,” said Wilson.”
