Reading Town Reveal New Managerial Team
Colin Millard

.....Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division club for a third time, this time as director of football.

Millard has been given the role of director of football, with Butcher, who coaches at the John Madejski Academy, winners of a National Schools title last season, as manager.

Club chairman Roland Ford said: "We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new management team. It is a team full of experience and one that will take the club forward. "Colin returns to the club as director of football and will be looking at the day to day running of the club to include all teams."

Following Mark Bartley's shock resignation it was felt the club needed to re-establish an infrastructure where the development of young local talent could flourish.

Ford stated: "Michael Butcher is a UEFA B licensed coach and will be first-team manager. He has played for AFC Wallingford, Henley Town, Kidlington and Oxford City. He spent the last season coaching with Hayes & Yeading United and Didcot Town. He also currently coaches the full-time under-19 football studies programme at the John Madejski Academy, who won the National Schools FA Cup last season.

“This is very much a joint hands on appointment, which will not only secure players from last and previous years but also introduce the club to a vast amount of good quality of up and coming players, which we are all very excited about.

"There were many very good applications for the post but we really feel confident about the future of the club with these appointments."
