....Meadow Stadium, the home of Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West club Didcot Town, produced a seven-goal thriller with Reading just edgingout their neighbours in what proved a great advertisement for Hellenic League football.
In an end-to-end match, Jamie Piercy opened the scoring for Reading on 19 minutes when hitting a poor throw out from the Highmoor keeper straight back into the net.
Surprisingly the second goal did not arrive until the 60th minute when Piercy was on hand again to tap in a Graham Lewis shot parried by the Highmoor keeper.
Highmoor pulled a goal back on 63 minutes when Jamal Forde-Small ran in from the left to slot home.
Piercy completed his hat-trick on 71 minutes when heading home a long cross from Ben Gladwin to make the score 3-1 to Reading.
Almost immediately from the restart, Aaron Baker pulled a goal back for Highmoor making the score 3-2, before Michael Bartley hit home a loose ball on 80 minutes to put Reading Town 4-2 up.
Still Highmoor were not beaten and on 82 minutes Baker got his second goal of the match, making the scoreline 4-3 to Reading, thereby setting up a very tense last 8 minutes which Reading saw out safely to lift the Supplementary Cup in front of an attendance of 244.
The Bluefin Insurers Challenge Cup semi-final between Binfield and Headington Amateurs fell victim to a waterlogged pitch following the heavy rains experienced during the last week.
The match has been rescheduled for Monday, 30th April (kick off 7.45 pm) with Highworth Town awaiting the winners in the final to be played on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7th at Newbury Town.
