Redhead Set to Shake-Up Strikers

......his strikers in order to stop a mini-goal drought.

Redhead has become concerned over his side’s inability to hit the target after failing to score in the last three home games.

He is looking to bring in a player who can add some much-needed muscle in the forward position and hold up the ball.

The reaction comes because Redditch have only scored once in their last four matches and follows on from last Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Hednesford Town in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round.

“We’re not scoring enough goals and it’s something we have to fix,” said Redhead.

“We’ve looked a little lightweight up front and the front two in Connor Deards and Mark Danks haven’t really clicked.

“I think we’re competitive in midfield and relatively solid in defence but Mark isn’t the type of player who can hold the ball up, that’s not his game.

“So we’re looking to freshen things up and see if we can bring somebody in.”

Redditch need a lift after a disappointing run of results over the last few days.

They lost 2-1 at Bedford Town in the league and then were out classed in the end by the impressive Pitmen in the cup.

Redhead added: “We asked for composure before the game but we missed two good chances early on.

“If those had went in it would have been a different story.

“It’s disappointing we’ve gone out of the cup and that we’re not playing well at home.

“Our best performances have come away from home and that’s not good enough.

“We’ve only won one game this season so obviously there is some work to be done whether on the training pitch or elsewhere.”
