....boss after Simon Colbran left to takeover at Horsham on Tuesday.
Redhill were shocked by Colbran decision to leave Kiln Brow on Tuesday after he told supporters and officials on Monday evening his plans for next season at the club. The former Crowborough Athletic boss quit the Lobsters to take over at Ryman League Premier Division strugglers Horsham, who sacked their manager Hugo Langston on Tuesday.
However, Redhill wasted no time appointing Colbran's assistant-manager to guide the Reds in their remaining games this season.
A statement from Redhill made it clear the club were less than happy with Colbran's swift decision.
"Following Simon Colbrans sudden departure, Redhill FC have appointed first-team assistant and under-18's manager Michael Maher as the new first team manager, until the end of the season, with a view to take the role on permanently from next season," it read. "Simon Colbran quit as Redhill manager just days after telling the board and supporters of his plans for next season and beyond.
"Colbran has taken over at Horsham FC. The move came to a complete surprise as Redhill FC had not been contacted by anyone at the Ryman Premier club.
"The Redhill board are disgusted at the lack of loyalty and the way in which this has been handled."
