Mark Boyd

Carlisle-born, Boyd started his career with Newcastle United. On leaving St James`s Park after not making a first-team appearance, he signed with Port Vale in 2002 and signed for Gretna via Carlisle United.

He returned to the English football with a loan move to Macclesfield Town in 2005 and after a short spell with Accrington Stanley in 2006, he joined Southport.

He moved onto Irish club Sligo Rovers in 2007, before returning to the English non-League scene with Barrow the following year.

He finished the 2010/11 season with Reds` league rivals Droylsden following an initial loan spell.
