Rovers Return for Matthews
Robbie Matthews

....rivals Newport County in time for Saturday's trip to league newcomers Alfreton Town.

Matthews, 29, the former Salisbury City and Kidderminster Harriers target man will replace James Norwood, who has been handed a three-match ban after the FA charged him with violent conduct following a DVD review of the 1-1 draw against Stockport County last Friday.

Norwood will miss Saturday’s trip to Alfreton Town and the subsequent matches against Braintree Town and Ebbsfleet United.

Matthews had a similar spell at the New Lawn last season, scoring one goal in four starts and three substitute appearances

"We know all about big Robbie and he's different to what we've got," said Forest Green boss David Hockaday.

"Robbie's big, angry and horrible and will be a big asset to the group."
