....week met with his players and secured a number of players for next season.

Keogh and assistant boss Neil Tooth met with the squad this week to discuss their plans for next season.

A number of key players have agreed to stay next season and the management team have also been speaking to some exciting targets.

Tooth said: "We had a sit down with the lads to discuss what we feel was lacking last year and in what areas we need to improve.

“The most pleasing thing was that the lads wanted to prove people wrong following a dismal twelfth place finish last season.

“There was no talk of money it was all about improvement and how we can be successful next season.

"We have told them all that we will be bringing in players in most areas and that they are going to have to work hard and come back for pre-season in good shape and they are all up for it. The beauty of having the 3G is we can keep ticking over and the lads have asked if they can come in on Thursdays for a kick about, and that speaks volumes about their desire to improve.

"We have also been speaking to some new players as have most teams and we are very hopeful we will be signing these players very soon.”

The players confirmed as staying next season are Scott Rickards, Lee Parsons, Dean Rathbone, Chris Gummery, Matt Jackson, Ben Lund, Luke Chapman, Harry Harris, Zac Costello and Jack Stone.

Leaving the club are Jon Jones, Niall Cooper, Gez Mulholland and Jimmy Quiggin.

The management team will also have some new faces as the club are looking for a new physio and goalkeeper coach.
