.....will go about his summer business in the ‘right way’ and won’t rush to announce any new signings.
The player-manager won’t be lifting the lid on any players joining his side’s next assault on the Premier Division until they’re officially registered with the club in July.
Rudge was interested in bringing in Swindon Supermarine’s player of the season Rob Dean before the midfielder opted to stay with the Bluebirds’ relegated local rivals.
“That’s just one example of a player we were trying to bring in before he changed his mind and decided to stay at Supermarine,” he said.
“At the moment it’s all verbal agreements with players and things can change.
“A lot of other clubs are saying that they’ve signed this player and that player but I want to wait until July when you can sign them on properly.
“You can end up with egg on your face if someone changes their mind or you can announce a player and then someone else comes straight in for them and tries to steal them away. We want to be professional and do things the right way.” Lewis Powell and Greg Tindle are the only members of last year’s squad to fly the nest so far and Rudge added: “There have been a few other clubs trying to unsettle my players and it can be a surprise sometimes but we’ll concentrate on getting our own house in order.
“People are always going to be interested in my players because I’ve got good footballers at this club.”
