Hendry was appointed at the end of the season when Dave Hagan left to become assistant-manager at South Shields, but he informed the Ryton committee earlier this week that he was resigning because of work commitments.

Ryton have a friendly against Team Northumbria on tonight, and the committee will meet afterwards to decide on their next step.

Their first game is in the Second Division against Washington next Saturday.
