After a short illness, Dennis passed away peacefully at Harrogate Hospital last Wednesday.

He was first involved with the club as a player in the ‘40s, later becoming an active committee member, chairman and president.

Football secretary David Shepherd said Dennis Bentley was very well-respected, adding: “His commitment to the club was unrivalled.

“Often with a kind word or a tale to tell, Dennis was a major asset and will be sadly missed.”
