Somerset-born Draper, 21, represented the All Whites in the 2007 FIFA under-20 World Cup in Canada where he played against Portugal and Mexico.

His senior international debut for New Zealand came in 2008 in a World Cup qualifier against Fiji and he was also included in the under-23 squad for the Beijing Olympics, featuring in his country's group matches against Brazil and Belgium, playing alongside Blackburn Rovers' centre back and club captain Ryan Nelson.

In domestic football down under he played for Canterbury United, Wellington Phoenix in the Hyundai A-League, Melbourne Knights in Australia and Team Wellington.

He hit fifteen goals from twenty-eight appearances for `Stoke last season.
