Chromasport United Counties League

The Saints hitman slammed in fifty-two goals in fifty games for the Saints to land the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division `golden boot`, prompting approaches from a host of Football League clubs.
Cambridge United and Dagenham & Redbridge have both expressed a firm interest while League One Brentford are also understood to have been monitoring the 19-year-old this season.
But Posh appear to be in pole position after offering the youngster a three-day trial with the first-team Development squad at London Road next week.
St Ives boss Jez Hall said: “Conor has been offered the chance to go to Peterborough for three days. It is a great opportunity for him and we all hope he makes a good impression during his time at London Road.
“He was at Posh before he came to us but back then at 16 he was a lot smaller and maybe lacked a bit of confidence, but that is not an issue now.
“Since he came through from our youth set-up he has done tremendously well and it is no surprise to me that there has been so much interest in the lad - he is certainly far too good for this level of football.
“We have had a lot of interest from a lot of clubs and we have accepted that Conor will be leaving us this summer, it is just a case of where he goes.
“Hopefully it will be to Posh as I am a fan and it would be great if he got the chance to continue to develop his career there.”
Despite the fabulous form of their star asset, St Ives missed out on the UCL title but did get their hands on silverware when a hat-trick from Washington fired them to a 4-1 win against King’s Lynn Town in the UCL League Cup final on Monday.
And while he may be playing his football eight levels below Posh in the football Pyramid, Hall is confident Washington has the talent to make the step up to the Championship.
He said: “There are plenty of fans who come to our games who pay their money just to see Conor play, he is that good. He has excellent pace and bags of skill and with the right guidance I think he could be a real hit at Posh.
“He has certainly taken this league by storm and there is no reason to think he cannot do that at a much higher level.
“He will have to work at it of course but if things work out for him next week and he gets a chance I could see him having the same kind of impact that Taylor has had this season.
“And even if things don’t work out at London Road, I am sure he will get a good move as he is such an exciting talent someone is bound to snap him up.”
