Nathaniel Sherborne

Striker Nathaniel Sherborne underwent surgery after dislocating an ankle and suffering suspected tibia, fibula and ligament damage in last Friday's 1-1 friendly draw at home to Blue Square Bet South side Basingstoke Town.

Half-time was called 5 minutes early as Sherborne lay in agony after being caught by a strong tackle from Nathan Smart which didn't even result in a free kick.

Sherborne is expected to face a long spell on the sidelines and his injury will be an unwelcome setback to new manager Steve Riley on his return from holiday.
