Slough Go Fourth

Slough Town secured their place in the vo-Stik League South Premier play-offs on Saturday after a 2-2 draw with second-placed King`s Lynn Town and they moved up to fourth spot 48 hours later after a 1-0 at Top Field against Hitchin Town.

The Canaries are tenth in the table and have little but pride and final placings to play for but made it tough for an often tired-looking visiting side.

However, the breakthrough finally arrived with 20 minutes remaining of normal time when sub Chris Flood headed a James Dobson cross onto the inside of the post and, although it already looked in, former Hitchin player Matt Lench made sure.
