Sponsorship Boost for Glossop

....sponsorship deal with local company JJ Training (UK) Ltd.

The deal, which lasts for two seasons, will see the JJ Training logo on the front of the new Hillman home and away shirts when they are launched shortly.

Club chairman Dave Atkinson said of the deal: “I am delighted to welcome JJ Training as our new sponsor. I am particularly pleased that we are working with a local company which will help to reinforce the roots of our club at the heart of the local community. I hope this can encourage other local businesses to get involved in Glossop North End AFC. Myself, my fellow Directors and all involved in the football club will work closely with JJ Training to maximise the benefit of this sponsorship to all concerned.

“I am reminded that the last time the football club had a sponsor coincided with our best season for around 100 years. Maybe the agreement we have reached with JJ Training is a good omen as we look forward to the football season to come.”

Meanwhile, Glossop have announced that Lawrence McMahon has joined the club.

McMahon, who was most recently the assistant-manager with league rivals Colne, will be responsible for liaising with the first, reserve and youth teams.

The role will see McMahon taking an active role in the development and progression of players at the football club.

On the playing side, Sam Hind and Jay Gorton have decided to move on, and will be signing up for Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North neighbours Mossley next season.

Press officer Jonathan Haggart said: "Obviously to lose your top scorer and captain for last season is a blow. Both players thanked the fans and club on messages on Twitter and on the club messageboard."
