In what is regarded as great news for the club, robust former Witton Albion, Runcorn Linnets, New Mills, Nantwich Town and Salford City midfielder Knight has moved quickly to join up with Peter Withe and his squad in what looks like a determined move to bring in some real experience to the Saxons team.

Already the Saxons have been guilty of not converting chances into the full three points away from home in a tough league.

Knight is best known for his on the pitch determination as well as being a gifted passer of the ball.

Wayne Ashworth, who was instrumental in the capture of Knight, said Withe has been very specific in what he requires in terms of players and he is more than happy to have Knight on board.

Ashworth also went on to say: “We hope to have some more news shortly and we hope to be announcing a big story that will only strengthen the Saxons depth and team.”
