The final five South West Peninsula League Premier Division fixtures of the season were all completed this afternoon with the major story being at Kimberley Stadium where Saltash United secured runners-up in the league after a 5-0 win at home to Falmouth Town.

The Ashes were presented with the trophy and medals at the end of the match and also bank the £1,000 prize.

St Austell claimed the final prize money placing as they ended fourth after winning 2-1 away at Launceston and receive £300.

Elsewhere, two sides played their last Premier games with Tiverton Town reserves exiting the league at the end of the season and their last game was a 0-2 defeat at Ladysmead against visiting Torpoint Athletic.

St Blazey, who are relegated to the West Division, lost 1-5 at home to Exmouth Town in their final game of the season.

Cullompton Rangers had a 5-0 win away at Godolphin Atlantic which boosted the visitors` chances of qualifying for next seasons Emirates FA Cup.

The last two Friday night fixtures of the season were played with new champions Tavistock enjoying a winning end to their season after a 3-2 victory away at Plymouth Parkway.

Bodmin Town were also in action and they beat a plucky Witheridge side 2-1 at Priory Park which lifts Bodmin back into second spot but they had to wait until Saltash`s game on Saturday to learn of their disappointment of finishing in third spot.
