.....Football League (Wessex) Premier Division on Saturday.

Scott Joyce scored for the Dorset outfit and Fawzi Saadi also bagged a brace. Steve Llewellyn and Sean Leadbetter both also scored.

Bemerton Heath Harlequins responded well to their midweek defeat by beating Verwood Town 5-1 at their Western Way ground.

Hamworthy United were also in free-scoring mood on Saturday as they beat Alton Town 5-1 at the County Ground.

Elsewhere GE Hamble won 2-1 away at Moneyfields and Totton and Eling won 2-1 at New Milton Town. Newport (IOW) secured a 1-0 home win against Lymington Town.

Hayling United grabbed a 1-0 away win at Fareham Town on Friday night in the League Cup, whilst elsewhere in the cup Fleet Spurs remarkably won 7-4 away to Ringwood Town after extra-time.

Ashley Boyt gave Ringwood the lead in the first half before Sam Knowles equalised with his first of five goals.

Knowles scored twice more shortly after half-time to complete his hat-trick. Martin Warren then scored a brace to draw the home side back on level terms. With 7 minutes remaining, the visitors took the lead again from a penalty only for Darren Facer to make it 4-4.

Knowles added two more in extra-time and Spurs also grabbed another goal to make it 7-4 at full-time to the visitors.

In the League Cup first round on Saturday there were wins for Petersfield Town, Pewsey Vale after extra-time and also Alresford Town, away at Downton.

There was also a League Cup second round tie on Saturday which saw Stockbridge win 4-3 away at Andover New Street after extra-time.
