Tanners Brought Down To Earth By Thurrock

Just three days after being on national television and in the spotlight for their Emirates FA Cup Second Round tie with Wycombe Wanderers, Bostik League Premier club Leatherhead were brought right back down to earth on Wednesday night.

Thurrock leap-frogged the Tanners into sixteenth place in the table after recording their first away win of the season at Fetcham Grove.

Without the services of player-manager Sammy Moore (pictured) through suspension, the home side fell behind right on the stroke of half-time through the experienced Dennis Oli.

And another well-travelled player, defender Curtis Ujah, doubled Thurrock`s lead just shy of the hour mark.

Moore called the result “unacceptable” and if they are to come anywhere near mounting a play-off challenge, the Tanners will have to be much better than this.
