Taylor, a box-to-box style central midfielder aged 25, put pen-to-paper for the forthcoming season and joined his new team-mates at a first-team squad meeting at Colston Avenue.
He played for Blue Square Bet South side Bromley last season and was part of the promotion-winning Tonbridge Angels squad of 2010/11, scoring the winner in the Ryman Premier play-off final.
He has also played in the Conference Premier with AFC Wimbledon during their 2009/10 campaign, chipping in with six goals.
“The set-up is solid at Carshalton and, after a good chat with Paul Dipre, it was clear that the club’s ambitions matched mine,” said Lewis. “After speaking to my new team-mates at the meeting it seems everyone’s driving aim is to try and finish as high as possible in the league.”
Manager Paul Dipre said: “Lewis has a good engine and I can see him adding plenty of power to our midfield, complimenting the likes of Luke Pigden, Jack Clark and Ashley Carew.”
The Robins have already signed a player from Bromley`s Hayes Lane, enticing winger Jack Clark to sign from league rivals Cray Wanderers.
