Southport boss Kevin Davies says need to take the positives from their draw at Chorley as they look to move up the table, writes Tom Feaheny.
After a 4-0 loss in the game before holding a side fighting for promotion left Southport’s boss pleased.
“The clean sheet was the most important thing, it was a good response, we battled and had chances, we were brave,” Davies told the club’s website.
“The work ethic from each player was outstanding, we stuck together as a group, it was a performance I was proud of.
“They went to Salford City and won 3-0, we knew they would be a threat, but we showed good quality and could have won it.
“It is a big step in the right direction, we now want to use it for the home game against Chorley next week.”
