Gainsborough Trinity manager Dave Frecklington believes he can take advantage of his knowledge of the lower leagues writes Tom Feaheny.
The ex Lincoln United and Spalding United manager took over the Trinity job and kept the side in the Vanarama National League North. with this being his first full season in charge.
“Of course, it’s well documented that my knowledge of the lower league market. This has been a massive advantage in me attracting the better players to Gainsborough.
“It also helps when you’ve been relatively successful in those leagues enhance why the chairman brought me here to the football club. It helps that the players knew my management style and on the flip side they’ve been given an opportunity to make a name for themselves and step up.”
Frecklington has already got the majority of his squad in for the campaign. He believes the signings made give them a good chance to compete in a tough league.
“I believe our recruitment process will bear fruit. We’ve got experience alongside youthful prospects who are hungry and have a desire to achieve. They also have individual qualities that they want to put on show.
“While we’re already talked about as relegation favourites. It’s gonna be a struggle it’s brought us even closer together as a group, that mix makes us very dangerous opposition.”
