FC Halifax Town boss Billy Heath says his side playing at home once again for a place in the Vanarama National League North final gives them a boost writes Tom Feaheny.
The Shaymen were able to defeat Salford City on penalties at The Shay and will next face Chorley in the promotion final. Heath says that the fans played a big role in the semi-final victory.
“The fans made so much noise against Salford and I know it will be the same against Chorley. I’ve got to be honest being at home is an advantage for us and we know that.”
“We also know we have to perform, they are a good team. Let’s be honest everyone will have thought Kidderminster would have got the job done and we’d be at their place. We just have to make sure we are at the right end of the result and give the fans what they want.”
The Shaymen needed the shootout after drawing 1-1 in the away and home leg. Heath says both sides showed how good they are during the games.
“I thought it was a real tough game, Salford pushed us and made it really difficult. Fair play to everyone involved in the game. I thought there was a lot of quality shown and we have just been able to get over the line.”
