Boston United supporters have raised over £1000 to help popular manager Adam Murray next season.

Pilgrims fan James Broughton started the online fund on Crowdfunder with the intention of achieving “what the club is capable of”.

“Adam Murray has shown some real class since joining the club,” he wrote.

“He has brought in some quality signings, acknowledged we are underperforming and given the fans a sense of importance again, bringing the club back in line with what we have always been used to – togetherness, on and off the pitch.”

“I will propose that the money raised will be used for something tangible for matchday use, like pitch covers, for example, which will obviously keep the pitch in better condition and minimise postponed games/fixture pileups, hopefully being very beneficial in the long run,” said Broughton.

Murray was presented with a cheque for £1090.26 on Saturday ahead of Boston’s 3-0 win over AFC Telford.
