Ebbsfleet United continue to progress on and off the pitch after they were given the green light to further develop their stadium.

Stonebridge Road will have a second new stand within a year after permission was granted by the council to rip down the Plough End stand and build a new one.

It’s the second bit of good news for the club in a few days after they won promotion to the National League.

Peter Varney thanked the council for their backing as the club’s vision for a future in the Football League gathers momentum.

“The decision was unanimous and this is another piece of very good news in a fantastic week for this football club,” said director Varney.

“I would like to thank Gravesham Borough Council and the regulatory planning board for their swift and decisive action.

“It’s a decision that not only benefits and safeguards the future of the football club but is also key to the overall regeneration of the local community and we are delighted to be able to launch the next phase of the stadium redevelopment.”
